October 18, 2026

The Reserve Bank of India has scheduled auctions for 91-day, 182-day, and 364-day Treasury Bills totaling ₹24,000 crore. Auctions will occur on October 21, 2026, with settlement on October 22, 2026.

Auction of Treasury Bills for Q4 FY2027

The Reserve Bank of India has announced the auction of Government of India Treasury Bills for 91-day, 182-day, and 364-day maturities, each with a notified amount of ₹8,000 crore, bringing the total to ₹24,000 crore. The auction is scheduled for October 21, 2026, with settlement on October 22, 2026.

These short-term borrowings form a key component of government cash management, enabling bridging of temporary mismatches between revenues and expenditures. The 91-day, 182-day, and 364-day T-Bills are regularly auctioned under a uniform price auction system, where all successful bidders receive the securities at the weighted average price.

Market participants, including banks and primary dealers, are expected to participate actively. The auction outcomes will influence short-term interest rates and liquidity positioning in the financial system. Institutions managing regulated portfolios must consider these instruments for compliance with Statutory Liquidity Ratio (SLR) requirements.
