LegalTech Roundtable Aims to Standardize Legal AI Product Evaluation

October 19, 2026

ILTN and Jindal Global University’s Ideate Lab convened a strategic roundtable to draft a standardized assessment framework for legal AI products, bringing together buyers and builders to ensure reliability, transparency, and ethical compliance in adoption.

LegalTech Leaders Convene to Draft AI Product Assessment Standard

The Indian LegalTech Network (ILTN) and Jindal Global University’s Ideate Lab hosted the second LegalTech Strategic Roundtable on August 20, 2026, at the Chelmsford Club, New Delhi. The invite-only session brought together legal AI buyers—such as law firm partners, in-house counsel, and enterprise CIOs—and AI developers, including founders and specialists in AI governance and data infrastructure, to develop a common product assessment standard.

The primary goal was pragmatic: to create a fair, transparent, and technically sound evaluation framework for legal AI tools. Participants discussed criteria including accuracy, data privacy, explainability, model bias, and integration with existing legal workflows. With rapid AI adoption in law firms and corporate legal departments, the absence of standard benchmarks has led to inconsistent risk assessment and compliance challenges.

By aligning stakeholders across the ecosystem, this initiative could shape procurement policies, influence regulatory thinking, and promote ethical innovation. The resulting standard may become a reference point for institutional buyers, particularly in public-sector legal departments and regulated entities where auditability is critical.
