Government Stock Auction: Cut-off Yields Announced
The Reserve Bank of India has announced cut-off prices and implicit yields for the recently concluded auction of two government securities: 6.53% GS 2031 and 7.71% GS 2066. The cut-off yield was 7.3589% for the 2031 bond and 7.9339% for the 2066 security.
The notified amounts of ₹19,000 crore and ₹14,000 crore were fully accepted with no devolvement on primary dealers. The auction’s success highlights strong secondary market interest and effective debt management by the government.
Such auctions are key to financing the fiscal deficit. The yields serve as benchmarks for corporate bond pricing and influence long-term lending rates across the economy. The absence of devolvement reduces refinancing risks for the government.
