RBI Publishes Results of Government Security Auctions

The Reserve Bank of India has released full results of recent auctions for two Government of India securities: the 7.06% GS 2041 and the 7.43% GS 2076. The notified amounts were ₹23,000 crore and ₹13,000 crore respectively. Competitive bids totaled ₹64,287.95 crore for GS 2041 and ₹27,815 crore for GS 2076.

The cut-off yields were 7.06% for the 2041 security and 7.43% for the 2076 bond. The high subscription indicates strong investor appetite despite rising yields. The auction success supports the government’s borrowing programme and signals continued confidence in long-term Indian debt.

Legal advisors handling debt financing, institutional investments, or public debt litigation should treat these yields as benchmarks. The results also demonstrate market depth and are relevant for assessing fair value in distressed debt negotiations or insolvency valuations.
