SEBI Opens Chandigarh Local Office for Punjab, Haryana & Chandigarh

October 7, 2026

SEBI has established a new local office in Chandigarh to serve Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh, focusing on investor grievances, financial literacy, and stakeholder engagement.

SEBI Opens Regional Office in Chandigarh

Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has inaugurated a new Local Office in Chandigarh to enhance regulatory oversight and investor outreach in Punjab, Haryana, and the Union Territory of Chandigarh. The office will serve as a dedicated nodal point for addressing investor grievances, conducting financial literacy drives, and engaging with market intermediaries and listed entities.

The regional office is expected to streamline complaint resolution, facilitate inspections of registered entities, and support SEBI’s investor education initiatives such as Project Jagrook. It will also collaborate with local stakeholders including stockbrokers, distributors, and financial advisors to promote compliance and investor protection.

Implication: Intermediaries and listed companies in the region should anticipate increased regulatory interaction. Investors now have a localized mechanism for redressal, enhancing access to SEBI’s enforcement and education infrastructure.
