Directorate General of Foreign Trade extended the Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP) scheme until December 31, 2026 with no change in existing rates or value caps.
RoDTEP Scheme Extended Till Year-End
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has extended the Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP) scheme until December 31, 2026. The extension maintains all existing rate structures and value caps without modification.
The scheme, designed to refund embedded central, state, and local duties and taxes not refunded under other mechanisms, continues to apply across textiles, engineering goods, pharmaceuticals, and agro-products. The government cited ongoing global trade uncertainties as the rationale for continuity.
Exporters will benefit from policy stability ahead of the upcoming budget cycle. The decision avoids disruption in export pricing and supply chain planning, especially for SMEs relying on timely duty rebates.
DGFT stated: 'The extension ensures predictability for exporters while the inter-ministerial panel reviews the long-term export incentive framework.'
Lawyers advising export-focused clients should note that claims must still be filed through the ICEGATE portal within prescribed timelines. No new notifications have altered documentation or eligibility criteria. Clients may proceed under current procedures through year-end.
