RoDTEP Scheme Extended Till December 2026

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has extended the Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP) scheme until 31 December 2026. The extension maintains all existing rates and value caps without modification, providing continuity for exporters.

Roadmap notifications confirm that the scheme remains applicable to all eligible export goods and services, with benefits disbursed through a electronic credit scrip mechanism. The government aims to ensure uninterrupted export incentives while a long-term export promotion policy is under review.

The RoDTEP scheme reimburses exporters for embedded central, state, and local duties and taxes that are not refunded under other mechanisms, thereby preserving India’s compliance with WTO norms prohibiting production-linked export subsidies.

Practitioners should advise clients to continue leveraging RoDTEP benefits under current parameters. The freeze on rate revisions offers short-term predictability, but exporters must remain alert to potential policy shifts in early 2027.
