DGFT has extended the RoDTEP scheme for exporters until December 31, 2026, without altering existing rates or value caps. The extension provides stability amid ongoing WTO negotiations.
RoDTEP Scheme Extended Till December 31, 2026
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has extended the Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP) scheme until December 31, 2026, maintaining all existing rates and value caps unchanged. The extension ensures continuity in refund mechanisms for exporters facing embedded taxes in the supply chain.
The scheme, which reimburses manufacturers for taxes not refunded under GST, remains applicable across textiles, engineering goods, pharmaceuticals, and agro-products. The government refrained from revising rate notifications, citing the need for policy stability while World Trade Organization (WTO) subsidy negotiations continue.
"The extension provides certainty to exporters navigating global competitiveness challenges,"DGFT stated, noting that claims must still be filed through the online portal with supporting shipping and tax documents. The absence of rate changes avoids recalibration of cost structures for export contracts signed during the extension period.
Exporters and legal advisors should factor in the unchanged benefit matrix when pricing orders and structuring supply chains. The decision signals the government’s intent to sustain export incentives without provoking international disputes over permissible subsidies.
