RoDTEP Scheme Extended Till December 31, 2026

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has extended the Rebate of State and Central Taxes and Levies (RoDTEP) scheme until December 31, 2026. The extension, notified under the Foreign Trade Policy, retains the existing rebate rates and value caps without revision, providing continuity for exporters amid ongoing WTO and domestic tax policy evaluations.

The RoDTEP scheme refunds embedded taxes, duties, and levies suffered in the manufacturing and export process that are not refunded under GST. It covers exporters of goods and services across sectors, aiming to enhance global competitiveness by ensuring a zero-rated export regime. The current extension avoids mid-year uncertainty and allows businesses to plan shipments without disruption.

Exporters must continue to file relevant documents through the DGFT portal to claim rebates. The freeze on rate revisions suggests fiscal restraint, but stakeholders await broader reform in indirect tax structures. Legal teams should verify eligibility and documentation requirements under recent circulars to prevent disallowance of claims.
