Provisional Assessment on Glufosinate Imports

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has directed that imports of Glufosinate and its salts from China are to undergo a provisional assessment. This decision comes as an anti-absorption review is pending, and importers are required to submit an additional financial guarantee to cover potential adjustments in duties.

This measure aims to ensure that the domestic market is protected against price fluctuations that could arise based on review findings. Existing anti-dumping duties will continue to apply until the review concludes, providing a buffer for Indian producers against unfair imports.
